Design of automatic sealing and locking scheme for lunar sample

Abstract: One of the key tasks of China's lunar exploration phase three project is to collect lunar sample and return to earth under the condition of unmanned state, and to maintain the original state of the lunar sample, and to ensure the accuracy of the ground data analysis. Aiming at the characteristics of the mission for the lunar sampling in China, and by referring to the successful experience abroad, this paper designs a sealing structure and locking mechanism to automatically seal the lunar sample. The design can realize the vacuum seal with extremely low leakage rate of the lunar sample, and can still maintain the leakage rate of the sample container after withstanding some mechanical environment conditions. The ground test verification indicate that the design can meet the expected target and the needs of lunar sampling mission in China.
