Study on the Main Circuit Scheme and Efficiency of Vacuum DC Electric Arc Furnace

Abstract: Based on the requirements of vacuum DC arc furnace for supporting DC power supply, this paper analyzes the principle, advantages and disadvantages of the main circuit scheme of DC arc furnace power supply in common use. The main circuit scheme of power supply for vacuum DC arc furnace is obtained. It is shown that the performance of the high voltage of power grid through the rectifying transformer for a primary buck and the rectifier transformer secondary side with thyristor phase-controlled rectifie is still the best.
